The healing presence of nature is a topic is close to my heart and born from lived experience. In fact, I’m not sure I would be here without it. In the words of Mary Oliver from her poem, Among the Trees, “I would almost say that they (the trees) save me, and daily.” I get that… Even more, nature has taught me to become that healing presence to myself. And to others. Such is nature’s inherent generosity!
Through spending a lot of time in nature during challenging times, I learned how to relate to myself and others with compassion and understanding. I also learned how to relate to all of life as a source of abundance. I enjoy sharing about the many nurturing qualities of nature, and creating space for meaningful conversation about this topic. See this page for a piece I wrote about how becoming a dog walker introduced me to the healing presence of both nature and dogs.
Below are some of the themes I explore with others in a group setting:
- Discover how nature fosters within us a spirit of curiosity instead of judgment that opens our hearts and minds to wonder and possibility.
- Learn how nature models authenticity and self-acceptance, instead of feeling we need to hide, mask, or be fixed or changed.
- Develop a true reverence for your own experience that naturally extends to others.
- Find the power of engaging your senses in nature and accessing your intuitive mind.
- Learn how nature reminds us of who we are and can become, serving as a mirror of our true selves, and reflecting the essence of our souls.
- Discover how to welcome nature into your daily life as a compassionate companion and wise teacher.
- Uncover the invitations of the seasons – how nature shows us meaning and direction no matter where we find ourselves in the circle of life, and how everything belongs.
