This piece is a celebration of several healing forces in my life: yoga, knowledge of the chakras, and nature. The original piece is currently hanging on the wall of a local yoga studio!
A bit about each healing element in this piece:
*Fairies remind us of the beauty & wisdom of natural world, and of the peace & solitude we find in nature’s presence. They also invite us to live our lives according to our own inner compasses, and to bring playfulness, curiosity & conviction into all we do!
*Yoga is an ancient practice that aims to create a connection between the mind, body, and spirit through a combination of physical poses (asanas), controlled breathing (pranayama), and meditation. This chakra fairy is seated in the sukhasana pose – a comfortable cross-legged sitting position, often used by beginners for meditation or breathing exercises. The name comes from the Sanskrit words sukha (comfort or ease) and asana (pose or seat).
*The chakras are energy centers in the body, often visualized as spinning wheels of energy, that originate from ancient yogic tradition. The most common system recognizes seven main chakras, each with its own location along the spine, colors, and association with different aspects of physical, emotional, and mental well-being. I enjoyed using different colors and numbers of flowers and their individual petals to symbolize the different chakras.
May this chakra fairy serve to remind you of the healing forces in your life, and of the way you radiate inside and out when your prioritize your well-being!
