This piece is about the newfound tenderness I am feeling toward myself as I let her show up tired with no plans, as I let her body and mind ache for rest, as I allow her to be in wonder of the path she has already walked and the invisible one she knows is already unfolding. I let her curl up, close her eyes, and put her hair down. I let her be still and bare without telling her there is something wrong with her or that she isn’t doing enough. I let her be cranky without a lecture. I surround her with patience and care, like soft reeds. And then I wait with her. And in this place, I am enough as she is enough.
